Do you have one or more missing teeth?

Are you looking and weighing your options?

Some of these options include dentures and implants. Choosing the right solution depends on a variety of factors including; preference, price, your jawbone and the remaining teeth.

Both Dentures and Implants have varying advantages and disadvantages and the most important aspect is discussing the best option for YOU with your dentist.

Serving the same purpose, Dentures and Implants;

  • Replace missing teeth
  • Assist in chewing food you may have not been able to eat
  • Improve your speech
  • Support facial muscles
  • Reduce self-consciousness and increase self-esteem
  • Enhance your smile

Implants:

Growing in popularity, implants have become increasingly popular among adults aged 55-64. Capped with crowns, implants require bone in order to place the screwlike implants. Firstly, the damaged root is extracted and a hole is made in the jawbone. A post, also known as a metal prosthetic root, is implanted into the bone. When the bone starts to grow around the post, a crown is fitted.

Dentures:

Dentures are prosthetic teeth that are not only removeable but fitted custom to your mouth. Dentures can either be fitted as a complete set to replace ALL missing teeth or made to replace a few missing teeth, known as partial dentures. Dentures are made to look like natural teeth and gums and held in place with a special form of adhesive that bonds them to your gum.

Cost Associated:

The cost associated with dentures and implants depends on the type of treatment you require related to each option. For more information relating to Dentures vs. Implants, please speak with our team here at Dentistry on 88!
